Claus G. Boldt has been working as an independent VAT advisor for the past two years. Overall Claus has more than 27 years of VAT advisory experience and is recognized as one of the best indirect tax advisors in Denmark.
Claus has comprehensive knowledge of Danish and international VAT law, and his experience covers a wide range of industries with a focus on the public sector and large multinational companies. Claus covers all indirect tax matters ranging from set-up of effective administrative procedures and risk mitigation over business structures to negotiating solutions with the tax authorities and taking cases to the administrative courts.
Claus has a holistic approach with a key focus on how to implement and embed advise into the day-to-day operation of the client e.g., processes optimization, ERP/systems implementation, optimizing/updates/roll outs, training etc.
In the past 27 years Claus has been head of a VAT audit department at the Danish Tax Agency, assisted the Nepalese Ministry of Finance with establishing a VAT process and a legal VAT system, assisted the Polish Ministry of Finance (new member state) with the implementation of the EU VAT directive and rulings from the European Court of Justice (EU twinning project), assisted the Danish Ministry of Taxation (project leader) with creating the target vision for the future VAT process in Denmark and assisted the Qatar Ministry of Finance with establishing an indirect tax process and a legal indirect tax system (project leader). Furthermore, Claus has for 10 years been Partner and Indirect Tax Leader at PwC.
